Polysys is a high-performance company that was spun off from a well-known group in the copying industry around twenty years ago and has positioned itself as an independently operating organisation. 1989 Founding of Polysys Electronic Systems AG in the course of a logistics outsourcing by a globally active company (incl. infrastructure and 38 employees from the office, warehouse, transport and workshops departments)
1991 Expansion of the customer base and acquisition of additional customers
1993 New “On-Site Repair” service (Technical customer service) with its own Service technicians for a major customer
1994
  • New “Desktop Service” service, replacement of monitors, printers and PCs
  • Opening of a branch in West Switzerland
1995 Process-oriented system build-up of the Quality Management and certification to ISO 9001
1996 European link with the founding of the EUROTECH joint venture for 2-man crew transports and spare parts logistics (cancelled in 2001)
1997 Start of Polysys 2000 planning: Realignment of the organisation, IT and warehouse logistics
1998
  • Assessment according to EFQM standard (European Foundation for Quality Management) and ISO 9001 re-certification
  • “Business Process Re-engineering”: Customer/Company analysis and reorganisation with process-oriented structure
  • Introduction of the “Balanced Scorecard” management instrument
  • Re-organisation of the IT, introduction of the SAP R/3 and EDI solutions
1999 Re-organisation of the communication image and introduction of the Polysys Homepage
2000 Expansion of the warehouse, additional storage hall in Bachenbülach
2001
  • Installation of a false-floor installation with shelving system for the storage of spare parts
  • UPS Inc. acquires Polysys Electronic Systems AG as a a part of the UPS Logistics Group Europe
  • System build-up of the environmental management system and certification according to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 re-certification
  • Renewed successful implementation of an EFQM Assessment
2003
  • New market image as UPS Supply Chain Solutions, renamed as UPS SCS (Switzerland) GmbH
  • Integration of the Swiss branch of the Fritz Companies transport company acquired from UPS
2004
  • Integration of the activities of the Menlo Worldwide Forwarding company acquired from UPS
  • Re-certification according to ISO 9001 and 14001 and carrying out of an SQS assessment according to ISO 9004 guidelines
2005 SAP despatch office concept with link to supply partners for the Tracking&Tracing
2008
  • UPS sells a part of the business of UPS SCS (Switzerland) GmbH to Polysys AG, a subsidiary company of Planzer Transport AG. The earlier name «Polysys» and the independent market image were retained
  • Re-organisation of the management system with the introduction of the PQM, the new Polysys Quality Management
  • Today, Polysys has more than 150 well trained and motivated employees.
